What Is Great About It?

Earl Grey is one of the most popular teas on the market. Interestingly, it is not a straight black tea. Instead, it is typically a blend of black tea and oil of bergamot. Due to this combination, Earl Grey tea has a unique flavor profile. It combines the bold flavor of black ta with the floral undertones of the oil of bergamot.

It also has a higher level of caffeine, though still lower than what you will get in a cup of coffee.

Are There Any Drawbacks?

Earl Grey has very minimal health benefits, as it contains only trace amounts of a few nutrients. However, if you love the idea of your morning tea offering some positive health benefits, you may want to check out one of the other teas on our list.

What Is Great About It?

Matcha tea is an absolute gem in the tea world. The tea leaves matcha is made from are covered for approximately a month before harvest. Without direct sunlight, the plant increases chlorophyll production, giving matcha tea its shockingly green color.

As a bonus, the health benefits traditionally found in green tea get amplified. The reason for this is that the entire leaf gets ground up into a powder. So, when you drink matcha tea, you reap the benefits of the whole tea leaf.

Are There Any Drawbacks?

Proper matcha tea does take a little extra time to make. So, if you are in a rush and prefer a tea bag in your to-go mug, this won’t be the best choice for you.

What Is Great About It?

Oolong tea comes from a variety of leaves grown in China. The way the leaves are processed is what makes oolong truly unique. After harvesting, the leaves are lightly bruised and then dried in the sun. This form of processing results in partial oxidation, giving oolong a flavor profile somewhere between green and black teas. It has an earthier taste to it than most black teas.

Oolong tea contains many beneficial vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. In choosing this tea every morning, you may positively support your heart health, brain function, and bone strength. The antioxidants also provide many protective benefits. It’s a good choice of tea for people who don’t like tea. If you like this post, you might enjoy our guide on how to make kava tea.
